This was the last DJ set I recorded using casette tape before switching to CDs. I'm glad I converted it to CD back then because I ended up losing all of my old master cassettes in one of my moves :(.
I was still spinning vinyl at this time. This was the second chapter in my Time Bombz series. The first one was on casette tape so I think it may be lost forever :(. I switched to burning CDs around this time.
The final set of my Time Bombz series. There is some hard house and trance on this one.
I recorded this set in a collaboration with my great friend DJ Goast and we released it as a double disc. This was my mix for that collab.
This was the follow up double disc release by myself and DJ Goast. I tended to spin a lot of darker techno and trance in these days. I guess I was into "heavy metal techno" around this time.
I was into some high-energy house, trance, and breaks around this time.
This one begins with a track I produced myself along with my friend and production collaborator DJ Shakka.
This was a fun project I worked on when I lived in Danville, VT with my great friend DJ Shakka. He did the first half as break beats and I did the second half as house. All vocals on this one!
A hip hop mix I collaborated on with my great friend DJ Shakka when we were living in Vermont!
(coming soon)"DJ Shakka and DJ Selek aka Real Playaz - Worldwide" Mix - 2001
I got a little lighter on this series. Each track features vocals.
I got a little spacey on this one including some pretty sweet breaks!
After finishing my degrees I finally got back into spinning out live and I began recording my sets.
This was the first in a long series of live music and art shows DJ Goast and I put together called "Utopia"
My second set from our very first Utopia event.
Had to throw some classics in on this set from my clubbing days in the late 90s.
More classics mixed with tracks that came out in 08/09. I love the latin-tribal tracks.
This set is almost all Sound Factory era classics from 1998-2001
Part 2 of my Sound Factory-inspired classics from 1998-2001
One of my more abstract house music sets. Percussion, vocals, with grimy and tribal beats.
Part 2 of of our night at U4. This was our first time doing Utopia at another location other than Inner Bay Cafe. This one took place at "On the Rocks" on Acushnet Ave. in New Bedford. It's a different business now.
Of all the Utopia parties we have done over the years, the Halloween party is always my favorite. This was the first of many for Goast and I.
My second set from our very first Utopia Halloween event at Inner Bay Cafe.
A little mix I made during the cold, dark winter season of 2009 in New England. Hopefully it lifted some spirits like it lifted mine.
This was a special Utopia event we threw for my brother Garrett's 30th birthday!
On the heels of 6 straight banging Utopia parties, other promoters began to reach out to Goast and I. This set was recorded at the Sky Room in Fall River, MA. It is also no longer there.
More classics from the late 90's early 2000's era of house music.
All vocals on this one!
My second set from an amazing summer party DJ Goast and I threw at Inner Bay Cafe. We played all vocal tracks that night.
Utopia 8 at Inner Bay Cafe!
Another late 90's/early 2000's-inspired classics set at Inner Bay Cafe.
Set two from our second Utopia "Classics" party.
My first set from our second Utopia Halloween party at Inner Bay Cafe.
My second set from our second Utopia Halloween party at Inner Bay Cafe.
One of my sets from an amazing night with the Utopia crew and Devin Lima and The Cadbury Diesel at the Whaler Lounge in New Bedford.
We kicked off the Spring of 2011 with another party at Inner Bay. This is my first set from that night.
This is my second set from that night.
This was a pre-recorded set I put together for the BD Thursday podcast. Each Thursday they would feature a different DJ. I had a lot of fun putting this one together and tried to use a mixture of styles to rep what I was into at the time.
One of the true privileges that I've had as a DJ is to be able to work with the amazing artist Joshua Oliveira. He painted live at all of the previous Utopia events we did and he always amazed and astounded people. This was a special event which featured a showing of his art in a gallery format. It was held at the old Day's Inn (now the NB Inn and Suites)
My second set from Josh's Utopia Art showing.
This is my first set from Utopia 12 held at Inner Bay Cafe. What a way to kick off the Spring/Summer season!
This is my second set from Utopia 12 held at Inner Bay Cafe.
We decided to stop numbering our Utopia events after 11 and started naming them after the season and year. We had no idea this party would still be going on two years later!
My second set from Utopia Summer 2011 held at Inner Bay Cafe!
Although this gig didn't go as we wished, it was our first time getting the opportunity to bring Utopia out of New Bedford and to a larger city like Providence!
This was the second set I had planned for Pearl but since I didn't get the opportunity, I recorded it at home.
Our chance to redeem ourselves from the disasterous Pearl gig. Thank you to our friend Dimitri for giving us a shot in a larger venue in a larger city!
My second set from our first night spinning a Utopia in Providence!
We had such a great time the first time around, they invited Goast and I back for another Utopia in Providence!
My second set from our second Utopia party in Providence!
Latin house is one of my favorites!
Latin flavors for this Spring party!
Summer at Inner Bay was always a blast!
Summer at Inner Bay was always a blast!
Another Halloween jam!
Another Halloween jam!
This was a great collaborative gig with the great DJs Andrew Perry, Sketch One, and Sha4a!
Anohter Halloween set at Inner Bay Cafe!
Yet another one! Who knew we'd still be doing Utopia Halloween parties six years later?
Our Spring party in 2015 at Inner Bay Cafe!
Our Spring party in 2015 at Inner Bay Cafe!
After a long hiatus of recording electronic music sets I got the itch again in a post-Covid world. I felt like I needed this set as much as the people who would eventually listen to it.
This one has a good mixture of new and old with a few different genres. It's a bit on the trancy side but if you like heavy percussion, you will probably like this one.
